New Hacking Tools Pose Bigger Threats to Wi-Fi Users

Image
You may think the only people capable of snooping on your Internet activity are government intelligence agents or possibly a talented teenage hacker holed up in his parents’ basement. But some simple software lets just about anyone sitting next to you at your local coffee shop watch you browse the Web and even assume your identity online.  “Like it or not, we are now living in a cyberpunk novel,” said Darren Kitchen, a systems administrator for an aerospace company in Richmond, Calif., and the host of Hak5 , a video podcast about computer hacking and security. “When people find out how trivial and easy it is to see and even modify what you do online, they are shocked.”  Until recently, only determined and knowledgeable hackers with fancy tools and lots of time on their hands could spy while you used your laptop or smartphone at Wi-Fi hot spots. But a free program called Firesheep, released in October, has made it simple to see what other users of an unsecured W

5 Foods That Help You Sleep...

by Julius C. Lamosai, DSM. Should you let yourself have that midnight snack if you're having trouble sleeping and you think hunger might be part of the problem? Here are five foods that can actually help you drift off: 1. Cherries Fresh and dried cherries are one of the only natural food sources of melatonin, the chemical that controls the body's internal clock to regulate sleep. Researchers who tested tart cherries and found high levels of melatonin recommend eating them an hour before bedtime or before a trip when you want to sleep on the plane. 2. Bananas Potassium and magnesium are natural muscle relaxants, and bananas are a good source of both. They also contain the amino acid L-tryptophan, which gets converted to 5-HTP in the brain. The 5-HTP in turn is converted to serotonin (a relaxing neurotransmitter) and melatonin. 3. Toast Carbohydrate-rich foods trigger insulin production, which induces sleep by speeding up the release of tryptophan and serot

We are all getting Older...

It was a busy morning, about 8:30 , when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am . I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him.. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health. He told me that   she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bi

Cristians and Muslims join hands for their rights at Tahir square in Cairo, Egypt.

Image

A true story on Valentines day...

A woman baked chapati for members of her family and an extra one for a hungry passerby. She kept the extra chapati on the Window-sill, for whosoever would take it away. Everyday, a hunchback came and took away the chapati. Instead of expressing gratitude, he muttered the following words as he went his way: "The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!" This went on, day after day. Everyday, the hunch-back came, picked up the chapati and uttered the words: "The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"  The woman felt irritated. "Not a word of gratitude," she said to herself... "Everyday this hunchback utters this jingle! What does he mean? "One day, exasperated, she decided to do away with him. "I shall get rid of this hunchback," she said. And what did she do? She added poison to the Chapatti she prepared for him! As she was about to keep it on the window sill, her hands trembled. &q

Utongozaji na nyakati zetu...

Huu ni utongozaji wa kileo... hapa kinachofuatia ni kubadilishana namba za vilonga longa, kama kilonga longa kina zengwe kwenye kupokea na mida hasa ukizingatia mizee mingine inapokea simu za wake zao, then wanapeana email au "ku-add a friend" kwenye sura kitabu. Hayo ndio maendeleo na changamoto zake! hii ni staili ya nyuma kidogo, hapo unategea mtoto akienda kuchota maji basi unajieleeezaa! ooh, mimi silali nakuota wewe, mara nikinywa maji nakuona kwenye glasi. Hapo hakuna vilonga longa wala sura kitabu. Lazima umpatafute na umpate mtu "physically"
