NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 14 – The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA),  the JICA Project and its technology partner Craft Silicon  have launched a new service to enable taxpayers inquire for information using a Short Message Service (SMS) and USSD technology via mobile phones. With this new service, taxpayers and their agents can now request for information from KRA through any mobile network operator (Airtel, Orange, Safaricom and YU) by simply dialling the USSD code *572# to access the menu or sending an SMS request to 22572. KRA Commissioner General John Njiraini says the authority also plans to substantially automate its processes with a target to become fully Information Communication and Technology (ICT) networked with its corporate plan which ends in June 2015. A California  fitness   enthusiast and mother of three is defending a controversial photo of herself that has prompted a cavalcade of Facebook critics to accuse her of fat shaming women.  “I wanted to inspire people,” she explains, adding that the “What’s your excuse?” part was simply a borrowed, popular phrase that’s been used in various “fitspiration” campaigns. “I wanted to say, ‘I know you think you don’t have time if you have kids.   I went to the Patent office to register some of my inventions. I went to the main desk to sign in and the lady at the desk had a form that had to be filled out. She wrote down my personal info and then asked me what I had invented. I said, "a folding bottle". She said, "Okay, what do you call it?" "A Fottle." "What else do you have." "I have also invented a folding carton." Again she said, "what do you call it?" "A Farton." She sniggered and said, "Those are silly names for products and one of them sounds kind of crude." Chris Kelly (pictured right), half of the 1990s rap duo Kris Kross, died of a drug overdose that included heroin and cocaine, his autopsy report said Wednesday.   Kelly, 34, died at an Atlanta hospital after he was  found unresponsive  at his home on May 1, police said.  The Fulton County medical examiner concluded that Kelly's death was an accident caused by the combined toxic effects of heroin, cocaine, ethanol and hydrocodone, and alprazolam, said the medical examiner's spokeswoman, Karleshia Bentley.  After paramedics took him to the hospital, a woman who identified herself as Kelly's friend told an investigator that Kelly had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine the night before, and that she had brought Kelly home "to recover from his drug use," according to a police report.
